Carolyn Dever is a professor of English and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies at Dartmouth College, where she also served as Provost and chief budget officer. Before stepping into her role at Dartmouth, Carolyn held a number of faculty leadership roles at Vanderbilt University, including acting program director for Women’s and Gender Studies, director of graduate studies in English, and Dean of the Vanderbilt College of Arts and Science. Carolyn’s was the classic case of a junior faculty member recruited into administrative service early: she was director of graduate studies and of graduate placement at NYU’s English Department before her tenure review there.
Having seen the academic hiring process from both sides of the coin, Carolyn is well-versed in the search process—including not only how to apply to roles, but where to look for them—the CV writing process, and the interview process. Through a review and revision of your CV, Carolyn will be able to not only provide insights on how to improve the document itself, but how to seek fulfilling roles and transition into the next phase of your career.
Through this process, Carolyn will carefully edit your CV and provide one-on-one career guidance in a one-hour follow-up conversation to review the changes and strategize for your success.
Registrants will be connected directly to Carolyn for individual scheduling.
