Orders & Payments
We accept credit cards and checks. To pay by check or request an invoice, please contact help@chronicle.com or call 202-466-1032. Payment is required before products are shipped.
No. A purchase order (PO) can be used to initiate an order; however, it is not considered a form of payment. Once the order is created, an invoice will be issued. Please email your purchase order to help@chronicle.com.
Invoices are available upon request; however, payment must be received before an order is released for shipment. To request an invoice, please contact help@chronicle.com.
We do not charge taxes on any store product.
Please call us at 202-466-1032. If your order has not yet been processed, we will make every effort to adjust or cancel it. Once an order has been processed, changes cannot be made.
Shipping & Delivery
Yes, we ship internationally. International orders incur a $10 shipping fee. If you experience any issues placing an order from outside the United States, please contact us at help@chronicle.com or 202-466-1032.
Orders are shipped through DHL. Expedited shipping is not currently available. Please allow 10–12 business days for delivery. If you need a product immediately, consider purchasing the digital version for instant access.
Once your package ships, a tracking link will be automatically sent to the email address provided for the recipient. If your order does not arrive within 10–12 business days after shipping, please contact help@chronicle.com.
If your order requires a reshipment, you must contact help@chronicle.com to receive the tracking information.
The Chronicle of Higher Education does not accept returns. In the event a replacement shipment for a print product is required due to damage or a fulfillment error, we will cover all associated shipping costs for a one-time courtesy reshipment.
Returns & Exchanges
All sales are final — we do not offer refunds and we do not accept returns. However, we're happy to help you find the right product before you buy. For reports and article collections, you may review a copy of the table of contents on the product page before purchasing. For data products, you may download a sample of the data from the product page. Please refer to our User Agreement for full details.
Digital products (PDFs and digital downloads) are non-refundable once purchased and downloaded. If you have not yet downloaded your digital product and need to change your order, please call us at 202-466-1032 or email help@chronicle.com.
Print products are also non-refundable and non-returnable once shipped. If you are unsure about a product, we encourage you to review the table of contents on the product page before purchasing — contact help@chronicle.com for more information.
Events and Workshops: For planning purposes, there are no refunds, including for missed sessions. For more information, contact workshops@chronicle.com.
If your physical print order arrives damaged or defective, please email help@chronicle.com within 3 days of delivery with photos of the damaged product and its packaging. We will review your request within 3 business days and, if approved, arrange a replacement shipment at no cost to you. Please note: Replacements are offered for damaged or defective physical items only. Digital products are not eligible for replacement unless the file is corrupted.
We do not offer monetary refunds. In the case of a damaged physical item, we will arrange a replacement as described above. If you have concerns about a purchase, please contact help@chronicle.com and we will do our best to assist you.
Product Information
After purchasing a digital product, you can download the PDF directly from the order confirmation page. You will also receive an email containing the download link. Please note that digital files can be downloaded a maximum of one time.
Yes. For group purchases of fewer than 100 copies, please refer to our bulk pricing options. For additional information, contact solutions@chronicle.com.
Yes. Digital licensing is an option for those institutions and organizations that wish to purchase Chronicle reports and guides in order to make them available campus-wide. Use this form to request a quote or receive more information.
Yes. For reports and article collections, you may review a copy of the table of contents on the product page before purchasing. For data products, you may download a sample of the data from the product page.
- Print Copy – Individual use only (not intended for sharing)
- Digital Copy – Individual use, delivered via email
- Institutional Print Copy – For library collections only
- Team Digital Access – For groups of up to 25 users
Print Copy and Digital Copy purchases of reports, article collections, and all other store purchases are intended for individual use only, in accordance with our User Agreement. To share a digital report with up to 25 people, select the Team Digital Access option on the product page. If you would like to share a report with more than 25 people or make it available behind a paywall, please explore our digital licensing options and request a quote.
Institutional & Multi-User Purchases
Several purchasing options are available depending on how the content will be used:
- Bulk discounts are for customers who are interested in purchasing multiple copies of an individual report. Refer to our bulk pricing schedule to learn more.
- Team Digital Access allows a single digital report to be shared with up to 25 users in accordance with our User Agreement.
- Institutional Print Copy is designed for academic libraries that wish to add a report to their physical collections.
- Digital licensing is a good fit for electronic-resource administrators or librarians who wish to make a digital copy available to a wider audience. Please fill out this form to request a quote.
