Degrees Conferred

The degrees conferred dataset shows the number of degrees (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s) granted by each institution and the first major of the students receiving the degree. These values are also aggregated by the degree type, the discipline, and by institution type (Carnegie Classification). Degrees are shown for total, male, and female recipients.

What you’ll learn:

• Which colleges grant the most degrees in a specific discipline (eg. Engineering) at all the various levels.
• Which degree majors are most popular at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s level.
• Which degree majors are most popular with women vs. men.
• How your institution compares to the average for institution type in the number of degrees in a degree major it grants, and how many of them it grants to women vs. men.
