Drinking among college students, both underage and over 21, is common on campuses across the country, but each institution faces its own set of circumstances. Some are surrounded by bars; at others, students throw house parties. To greater and lesser extents, some colleges work with their local communities to control drinking and keep students safe. The Chronicle used these alcohol-licensing data from 20 states to plot the locations of bars, restaurants, and stores where alcohol is sold.
