These data includes all public doctoral universities in the U.S. and all state college and university systems or governing boards with at least three campuses and 50,000 total students in the same academic year as the compensation data being reported. Each institution provides data on their president, three highest paid employees (not including the president) and any prior chief executives still employed.
Salary data includes a detailed breakdown of pay and a list of provided benefits; institution data includes context data such as median faculty pay and expenditures as well as identifying data elements.
