Strategic-Leadership Program All-Access Package | June 2024
Join us in June for a virtual professional development program which will help department chairs overcome the challenges of their unique role and create a strategic vision for individual and departmental growth, with the support of seasoned academic leaders.
Program Structure
Each of the four elements of this program will help department chairs understand their next steps in the role, in the context of their department, their institution, and in higher ed more broadly.
Part I: Contexts Seminars
The first two sessions in the program will provide chairs with information on the national higher-ed context in which they and their institutions are operating. These seminars include:
- National Trends in Higher Education | Monday, June 3, 11 a.m. ET
- Understanding the Higher Ed Business Model | Monday, June 3, 2 p.m. ET
These sessions will be recorded and distributed to registrants upon conclusion.
Part II: Foundations Workshop
This small-group collaborative workshop will:
- Provide chairs a space to process and contextualize the previous seminars
- Dive into thinking about individual and departmental goals
You will be able to select your session time at checkout, and this session will not be recorded.
Part III: Application Seminars
These seminars will provide chairs with practical opportunities to engage with experts on the management side of interpersonal relationships within their departments. These seminars include:
- Managing Conflict | Friday, June 7, 11 a.m. ET
- Creating a Culture of Belonging in Your Department | Friday, June 7, 2 p.m. ET
These sessions will be recorded and distributed to registrants upon conclusion.
Part IV: Synthesis Workshop
This small-group collaborative workshop will:
- Provide chairs a space to synthesize the content from the full program with their individual reflections
- Guide chairs in creating a robust go-forward plan for personal or departmental action.
You will be able to select your session time at checkout, and this session will not be recorded.
Please be sure to make calendar reminders for your selected workshops, and to save these times so that you have them in your records. All program times are in Eastern time.
